Moving into a new decade, organisers of Borderway UK Dairy Expo, Harrison & Hetherington has announced that this spectacular Dairy event will be held on Saturday 14th March 2020.
It will kick off with the showmanship classes on the Friday afternoon followed by the all breeds Young Stock section. The main cattle classes, including the British Friesian National Show, will be held on the Saturday.
Presenting the prime of British dairy genetics and industry innovation to a global audience, since its inception less than ten years ago, Borderway UK Dairy Expo has fast become one of the dairy industry’s key events of the year. For those exhibiting, whatever their age, this is a hugely competitive event with an impressive line-up of some of the very best British dairy cattle and young stock. Attracting in the region of 400 entries, the 70 show classes are held across the seven breed sections - Holstein, Ayrshire, Jersey, Dairy Shorthorn, Red and White, British Friesian and Brown Swiss.
Last year’s overall Champion of Champion accolade was won by the incredible Holstein cow, Sahara-Sanchez Ambrosia 3, owned by Mark and Sue Nutsford and Michael and Barbara Hollins from Cheshire.
On announcing details Harrison and Hetherington’s Event Organiser David Pritchard said:
“As one of the leading Dairy livestock trading centres in the UK, from which we initiated this event, our aim was to both showcase and celebrate the British Dairy industry. So, we are delighted that the event continues to grow from strength to strength, representing all sectors of the industry. For anyone who works in this agricultural sector, not only will they see tremendous dairy cattle and showmanship skills, but they are guaranteed to learn about the latest technical breakthroughs and innovations to help them maximise their business.”
Attracting in the region of 7,000 visitors, Borderway UK Dairy Expo is not only seen as an event for showing, it is also an event for those within the dairy industry to share commercial, innovation and educational developments.
And, reflecting on the continued importance of the industry Mark Riddell, Territory Manager for mainline sponsor Norbrook GB Ltd said:
“We have been at Borderway UK Dairy Expo since the offset in 2012. We get the opportunity to speak to existing customers as well as engage with industry experts and for that, the event is invaluable to us as a business.”
As such an established spring showcase for the sector, Harrison & Hetherington will once again invite a strong line-up of globally renowned judges for this year’s event.
