A trio of Limousin breeders consigned stock to a full ringside of
buyers which saw a leading price tag of 4,500gns. The sale, on Friday
1st September, was made up of cattle from the Greenwell herd of JT & J
Nattress & Son,
Lanchester, also from the Ardbrack herd of M Gethin, Haverfordwest
and from the Gunnerfleet herd of J & I Handley, Carnforth.
The top price went to Ardbrack Vintage, a 21 month old bull, sired
by Broadmeadows Tombola and out of a Brontemoor Ilkley bred mother.
Vintage carries a calving value of +5 and caught the eye of many
breeders with his overall tremendous shape. He was successfully purchased
by Andrew Ewing on behalf of a client.
Following with the Ardbrack herd, the next price tag was 4,000gns
for Ardbrack Princesspatti a Broadmeadows Cannon daughter and her
mothers line going back to Uplands Abba. Sold in calf to the renowned
French sire Nenuphar, and with her Nenuphar sired heifer calf at
foot, the outfit was bought by Smiths of Bloxham, Banbury.
Leading the Greenwell herd prices was Greenwell Onyx who sold for
4,200gns. Sired by Daim and out of a Greenwell Ike bred mother, Onyx
sold with her January 2006 born Tiret bred heifer calf at foot. The
unit was purchased by Smiths of Bloxham.
