A RAFT of first class advice aimed at helping dairy farmers make
the most of their cattle will be on hand at the Dairy
Event at Stoneleigh
on September 20 and 21.
Specialists will be on hand on the English Beef and Lamb Executive
(EBLEX) stand to give breeding and selection advice and the results
of new research into finishing dairy cull cows will be revealed.
Other specialist help on offer includes:
- Cull cow liveweight grading.
- The use of EBVs to help dairy farmers
get the right bulls to produce offspring for the beef market.
- Details
of the Beef Better Returns Programme and how to become a member.
The stand, in the Beef From The Dairy Herd area, will also host
butchery demonstrations designed to show the difference between
fat and lean carcases as well as displaying seam butchery techniques.
Clive Brown, EBLEX Regional Manager, said: “There will be
a great deal on offer for dairy farmers on our stand and they will
find it well worth their while to make a point of paying us a visit
while they are at the show.”
