Anne, from Lodge Farm, Thistleton, near Kirkham, Lancs, won the title with “Castellau Flying Fred,” a December, 2004, pedigree-registered shearling ram by Galtrees Dominator and a grandson of Cairhill Cavalier.

Charles and Valerie Marwood, of Foulrice Farm, Whenby, York, supreme champions in 2005, were prominent again this year when achieving the day’s top price of 540 guineas with the second prize shearling ram, bought by JN&DE Wood, of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Settle.

Another North Craven purchaser DR Robinson, of Eldroth, Clapham, paid 320gns for the third in class, from JR&DA Eagland, of Blubberhouses.

The first prize ram lamb and reserve show champion was a December, 2005, son of Harmby Moor Capello, shown by JA&R Geldard & Sons, of Low Foulshaw Farm, Kendal, and bought by Gerald Beresford & Son, of Hellifield, for 290gns.

Charles and Valerie Marwood’s third prize ram lamb went for 250gns to Lincolnshire buyers RI Clough & Son, of Spilsby, with the runner-up from JR&DA Eagland selling locally at 170gns to Bobby Clarkson, of Embsay.
