The top burger burghers in three categories – manufacturers,
caterers and schools – were awarded trophies, certificates and
the chance to take part in a sporting experience of their choice valued
at £500.
All entrants used Quality Standard English beef mince to make their
patties.
Winners were: manufacturer – Frank Parker Butchers of Nuneaton
for his Low Fat Burgers; caterer – Tony Robson-Burrell of The
Wheatsheaf in Oaksey, Wiltshire for his Rump Steak Burger; school meals – Brian
Fawcett of Gilmour Foods, suppliers to North Yorkshire County Council,
with his Yorkshire Dales Beefburger.
Hugh Judd, EBLEX Foodservice Manager, said: “We were impressed
by the quality of the winning burgers and with the fact that all three
winners were passionate about sourcing their meat from trusted suppliers.”
