Monsanto Launches New Ag-Chem Resource Centre
06/02/09

Monsanto’s extensive library of agrochemical technical and product information and advice is freely available to all UK growers and agronomists with the launch of a specialist internet resource centre this week.

The centre at
www.monsanto-ag.co.uk has separate sections on each of the company’s key chemical products – Roundup, Latitude and Monitor – alongside practical information and guidance on handling spillages, the Voluntary Initiative and pesticide regulations.

Full copies of all product labels, safety data sheets, tank mixing guides, environmental information sheets and COSHH guides are available for rapid downloading. At the same time, detailed practical guidance is provided on making the most of each product by Monsanto Technical Services with handy links to all the relevant information.

“We’re bringing our substantial library of agrochemical experience together in a single easy-to-reach place to complement the technical hotline service we offer to growers and their agronomists,” explains resource centre co-ordinator, Phillippa Overson.

“If you need to tackle difficult weeds like Japanese Knotweed, bracken and horsetail, for instance, you’ll find the latest practical advice to hand. Equally, you can work through our standard take-all risk assessment to plan your second wheat management. Or you can use our grass weed identification service to distinguish common couch from onion couch and Yorkshire Fog or establish precisely which of the many brome species you’re facing. All this – and much more – information is now accessible 24/7.

“We’ll be adding to and developing this new resource continuously to ensure both BASIS qualified specialists and commercial farming and amenity users always have the best information at their fingertips,” she promises. “So why not take a quick look. And if you do so before the beginning of March make sure you enter our launch competition to win a top-of-the-range Sat Nav system.”
