Exhibited by father and son James and Matthew Reeday, the 50kg victors made £115 each when knocked down for the show’s top price to Andrew Atkinson, Kettlesing.

With a quality turnout of Spring lambs, the reserve championship was awarded to the first prize pen of 45kg Charollais-cross lambs from Martin Preston, of the Bingley-based Robston Partnership, acquired for £100 a head by Mick Etherington on behalf of John Kearns Butchers, Shipley.

The second prize Continental pen of 39kg Charollais lambs from Robert Towers, of Camp House Farm, Farleton, Lancaster, champion at the April prime lamb show, sold for £96 each to Nick Dalby, Harrogate, buying for Kendalls Farm Butchers’ two shops in Pateley Bridge and Harrogate.

Keith Downs, of Milner Field, Bingley, sent out both the champion and reserve champion in the prime cattle show. The victor, a 565kg red Limousin bullock, sold for £915 to show judge James Dewhurst for Stanforth Butchers, Skipton.
