As one of the first UK bulls ever to be used as a sire of sons by major AI studs around the world, in his lifetime he produced over 200,000 straws of conventional semen and 65,000 straws of sexed semen.

Farmers throughout the UK have been very impressed with progeny and there are over 19,968 animals registered with Holstein UK.

However, Lucente’s success was not only recognised on British soils, he has also been in high demand overseas with more than 15,000 straws conventional and 3,000 straws sexed exported in the last 12 months.

His international popularity was strongest in Australia with 1,907 milking daughters registered in his production proof, closely followed by the USA with 1,166.

Lucente was globally admired for his superb udders (+1.2), good temperament (+2.1), calving ease (+0.6), quick milking speed (+1.9) and high volumes of milk (+477kgs).

Sired by Brabant Star Patron, Lucente was backed by five generations of VG or EX. Bred by the Spinelli family in Italy, Lucente traces back to one of two heifers purchased directly from the USA, to form the foundation of their herd.

The strengths in his pedigree evidently transmit to progeny, bred from a family with great type, production and longevity. Backed by top high reliability sires Patron, Luke, Melwood, Blackstar, Cleitus and Neil – Lucente guaranteed to deliver top-class progeny.

Cogent’s Sire Analyst, Simon Moseley has seen many Lucente daughters in both commercial and pedigree herds. “With thousands of daughters milking, Lucente is regarded as one of the most highly reliable UK proven bulls of all time. His daughters are very milky with great overall type and locomotion. Beautiful udders shine through, being very snug with a silky texture” says Simon.

Limited stock is still available. For more information contact your local Cogent Breeding Advisor or call +44 (0)1244 622000.
