Case IH at Cereals 2011
2011-06-09

Case IH will be promoting its Efficient Power technology and the cost savings it can offer, and showing the new compact Farmall C tractor, an agile and frugal tractor for work around the yard.

Efficient Power offers big savings

Case IH’s latest range of Puma, Puma CVX, Magnum and STX Quadtrac tractors feature the company’s suite of Efficient Power technologies designed to improve performance and fuel economy.

“Efficient Power combines the latest engine and transmission technologies,” explains Pat Kenny, Case IH Tractor Product Specialist. “The engines are specifically tuned to offer high power and great economy. We then use AdBlue to treat the exhaust gases once they leave the engine to ensure we meet the strict emission standards.

“With a Puma CVX 160, based on 1000 hours work, customers could save £2480 each year in fuel costs and that includes the cost of AdBlue. And, because AdBlue is not added to the engine but only to the exhaust, customers can still benefit from Case IH’s industry-leading 600 hour service intervals.”

The new Farmall C tractor, which made its debut at SIMA earlier in the year, will be on show at Cereals. The all-rounder expands the Case IH tractor range into the 55 to 75hp sector, providing customers with a compact tractor that is ideal in and around farm buildings, yet has enough power for front loader work.

There are three models, with 55hp, 65hp and 75hp, powered by a 3.2 litre 4-cylinder engine. A 40kph 12x12 or 20x20 synchromesh transmission option is available and can be fitted with either a mechanical or power shuttle.

The compact design results in an excellent power-to-weight ratio and the short wheelbase means the turning radius is just 3.75 metres. By situating the air-conditioning unit inside the cab, rather than on top, the overall height is only 2.37 metres, yet the Farmall C retains the convenience of a completely flat-floor.

The small size of the Farmall C does not mean it is a basic tractor. For the first time, a loader joystick can be integrated into the right hand operating console, permitting convenient and sensitive control of the front loader.

The tractors’ rear linkage has a lifting power of 2,150kg, and up to three rear and two mid-mounted hydraulic remotes can be specified.

The design of the all-new cab includes a high-visibility roof allowing the operator to easily see the loader at full height. As standard, the Farmall C comes equipped with a radio with integrated iPod dock and wide comfort seat with 15 degree pivot function, and the option of a high quality passenger seat.

The latest Case IH products can be found at Cereals on stand F718.
