Rawelen Nick Nack

The highlight of the day was Roger and Helen Wells, Glaneri, Cardigan selling their shearling ram Rawelen Nick Nack (100053) sired by a DW & CF Morris Ram, Penywern Squinty (086382) for 10,400gns to GO Williams, Bro Aled, Corwen.

The Bennett Family were once again in the prizes winning both the ram and female championship. Their Shearling ram sired by a Hamish Goldie ram sold for 2900gns to J Patrick, Omagh. Their shearling ewes sold for £330 to Linda Barnard, Malton.

The top price in the female section went to Charles Sackville Hamilton of Malton who sold his pen of second prize shearlings to Linda Barnard for £340. Winning the ewe lamb section was Dai & Cynthia Morris from Carmarthen who realised £180 and sold to Ivan Belton, Wicklow, Southern Ireland. It was Wynne Davies of Pwllheli who topped the price scale in this section with £190 to E Lloyd, Holyhead.

There was a noted number of both Northern and Southern Irish buyers looking for sheep, with the current restrictions it was the scrapie monitored sheep which were helped by this demand.
