Massey Ferguson to Showcase new Grass Range at ScotGrass 2016
Massey Ferguson will be showcasing its new range of hay and forage equipment at ScotGrass 2016 to be held at Acre Head Farm, Dumfries on Wednesday 18th May.
The comprehensive line-up, well suited to fulfilling the needs of Scotland’s dairy and livestock farmers, includes a wide array of mowers, tedders and rakes – many of which will be on show for the very first time.
There will also be a chance to see the top of the range MF 9407 S Xtra telehandler and the MF 4700 series tractor that was launched earlier this year – complete with new cab.
High Quality and Energy Efficient Hay and Forage Equipment
The new MF hay and forage line-up includes five mounted disc mowers from 2m to 4m working widths, two 3m and 4m wide semi-mounted mower conditioners and a heavy duty 3m trailed mower conditioner. There is also three centre-drawbar, trailed mower conditioners and two butterfly-folding mowers with widths of 8.3m and 9.3m.
Among the models on show at ScotGrass 2016 will be the front-mounted DM 306 FZ KC, a high spec, six-disc mower with tine rotor conditioner, equipped with compact angle drive and front-linkage headstock, with pull-type linkage and a working width of 3m.
Other machines include the 3m wide, six-disc DM 306 TL KC, equipped with tine rotor conditioner, compact angle drive, three-point linkage and centre support, along with the high spec DM 306 HS TR KC, a six-disc trailed mower with tine rotor conditioner, compact angle drive and 3m working width.
There will also be a DM 9314 TL KC mower conditioner combination, with a working width of 9.3m.
The MF tedder series is made up of six models, offering working widths from 5.2m to 12.7m. It includes four mounted machines with four, six or eight rotors and two trailed models with eight or ten rotors.
Each model can be easily adjusted to 15°, 18° or 20.5° according to crop conditions, while the tedder arms are made of strong, galvanised, flat steel – ensuring consistent power transmission.
Visitors to ScotGrass will be able to view the four-rotor TD 524 DN, equipped with three-point linkage with floating headstock and a working width of 5.2m and the eight-rotor TD 868 DN, which again has three-point linkage with floating headstock but a working width of 8.6m.
The MF rake range includes four single-rotor, linkage mounted rakes with working widths of 3.6m-4.5m and four two-rotor, semi-mounted, trailed chassis rakes that offer working widths up to 10m. There is also a flagship four-rotor rake providing adjustable working widths up to 12.5m.
Among the models at ScotGrass will be the RK 662 TRC, a two-rotor trailed rake with transport chassis, equipped with centre swath delivery and a working width of 5.8m to 6.6m.
The flagship RK 1254 TRC HB will also be on show, a trailed four-rotor rake with transport chassis, featuring centre swath delivery and a working width of 12.5m built for contractors and large scale farmers.
There will also be the RK802 TRC PRO from the MF Professional range, a trailed two-rotor rake with transport chassis, equipped with centre swath delivery and a working width of between 7.2m and 8m.
Massey Ferguson 4700 – In a Class of Its Own
Launched earlier this year, the MF 4700 tractor range features three models ideal for dairy and livestock farmers - the MF 4707 (75hp), MF 4708 (85hp) and MF 4709 (95hp). Designed and built using the latest engineering techniques, the machines offer the most up-to-date equipment and specifications in the 75hp-95hp sector, including all new cab, engine, transmission and driveline technology.
They benefit from a completely new, spacious, air-conditioned, ergonomically designed cab with excellent all-round visibility, while an AGCO Power 3.3 litre three cylinder engine delivers high power and torque with exceptional economy – complying with strict Stage IV/Tier 4 final emission regulations.
MF 9407 S Xtra Telehandler
Featuring proven technology and benefitting from first rate engineering, the MF 9407 S Xtra telehandler is the ideal machine for livestock and mixed farms.
Powered by a Deutz 3.6 litre Tier 4i engine delivering 122hp, the MF 9407 has a lift capacity of 3,500kg, a maximum lift height to 7m and a forward reach of 4m – giving it plenty of muscle for demanding tasks such as muck loading.
A two-range hydrostatic transmission gives a top speed of 40kph for efficient transport, while open centre auxiliary hydraulics offer a market leading flow of 190 l/min, ideal for demanding attachments such as bale shredders or sweepers and offering outstanding capabilities and performance, even at low engine speeds.
A new cab gives a modern look, with a straightforward design that is focused on the operator, offering excellent all-round visibility and a reduced noise level.
A wide range of Massey Ferguson attachments are available for the MF 9407 S Xtra, including buckets, bale grabs and forks, while a Manitou tool carrier can also be specified to allow existing attachments to be used.
