Massey Ferguson to Showcase New Ranges at Livestock Event
Massey Ferguson, will be showcasing its new MF 5700 SL and MF 4700 series tractors and the MF 9306 Xtra telehandler at this year’s Livestock Event.
The machines are ideal for livestock and mixed farms – combining compact dimensions and a high level of comfort with power and performance.
Both tractors and the telehandler will be put through their paces in a new Machinery Demonstration Arena sponsored by Massey Ferguson.
Massey Ferguson 4700 Series – In a Class of its Own
Launched earlier this year, the MF 4700 series tractor range features three models ideal for dairy and livestock farmers - the MF 4707 (75hp), MF 4708 (85hp) and MF 4709 (95hp).
Designed and built using the latest engineering techniques, the machines offer the most up-to-date equipment and specifications in their sector, including all new cab, engine, transmission and driveline technology.
They benefit from a completely new, spacious, air-conditioned, ergonomically designed cab with excellent all-round visibility, while an AGCO Power 3.3 litre three cylinder engine delivers high power and torque with exceptional economy – complying with strict Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emission regulations.
Maximum torque is achieved at low engine speeds: 1500 revs/min on the MF 4708 model. With a low rated engine speed of only 2200 revs/min, not only is diesel use minimised, but so too are noise and wear and tear, resulting in lower fuel bills and a more pleasant operator experience.
A 12×12 mechanical gearbox offers shuttle or powershuttle options, four-wheel-drive is standard and an open-centre hydraulic system with tandem pump supplies the pressure and flow required.
Modern electronic linkage control (ELC) systems provide precise and responsive control of linkage functions. The rear linkage - optimised to specifically complement the size of tractor - boasts a lift capacity of 3,000kg.
Independent 540rpm PTO with electro-hydraulic operation and option of 540/540Eco or 540/540E/1000 is standard.
AgCommand advanced telemetry monitoring is available as an option.
MF 5700 SL – A New Type of Tractor
The MF 5700 SL is a whole new genre of tractor in the 100hp-130hp sector, combining the compact dimensions required by livestock and mixed farmers with the performance and power needed for arable work.
With a 2.55m wheelbase and weighing just 4.8t, the highly versatile tractors build on the success of the MF 5600 series and combine a great power to weight ratio with superb agility.
With four models ranging in max horsepower from 100hp-130hp, they are ideally suited to a wide variety of duties.
The range benefits from the most advanced AGCO Power 4.4 litre, four cylinder engine featuring unique ‘All in One’, maintenance free, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) with Diesel Oxidisation Catalyser (DOC) – helping to meet strict Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emission regulations. The compact system also tucks neatly away under the right-hand side of the cab, improving visibility.
The tractors include a choice of renowned Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 transmissions, with brake to neutral function to help make light work of loader applications. A Massey Ferguson designed and built front axle suspension option is also available.
The MF 5700 SL series comes with a unique choice of three hydraulic systems that offer high flow rates and comprehensive control to suit every application.
The tractors also benefit from the same cab comfort as larger models, while offering superb visibility across a steep nosed bonnet and providing sophisticated but straightforward control. A new Speedsteer option makes it possible to vary the number of steering wheel revolutions needed to turn the wheels from lock-to-lock – helping loading operations and ensuring headland turns can be made quicker and with less effort.
An Auto-Guide 3000 automatic steering option is available as well as the AgCommand telemetry system.
All MF 5700 SL series tractors can be ‘loader ready’ straight from the factory, with a huge range of features to enhance ease of fitting, use and control.
MF 9306 XTRA Telehandler – Proven Technology
The MF 9306 Xtra telehandler offers farmers the ideal mid-size machine with a more compact option for buildings with restricted access.
With lift capacity of 3,000kg and maximum lift height to 6m it can be used for a wide range of loading tasks.
Yet its compact chassis, at just 2.1m wide, and 2.1m tall on 20in wheels and in its low cab format, means that it can easily access traditional buildings for feeding or mucking out duties.
Where height is not an issue, the higher cab and 24in tyres offer maximum ground clearance and visibility.
Powered by a Deutz 3,6l Tier 4i engine delivering 100hp, the MF 9306 Xtra has plenty of muscle for demanding tasks such as muck loading, with a two-range hydrostatic transmission giving a top speed of 40kph for efficient transport.
Open centre auxiliary hydraulics offer a punchy 100 l/min, while four electro-hydraulic load sensing spool valves allow the operator to simultaneously use three functions with high precision. Optional boom suspension provides outstanding comfort for all transport applications.
Three semi-automatic selectable steering modes ensure optimum manoeuvrability and – together with the MF 9306 Xtra’s compact dimensions – boost productivity where space is limited.
The new cab offers a straightforward design focused on the operator with superb ergonomics, enhanced visibility and simple to use controls and instruments.
A Smart Handling System (SHS) is a brand new feature that uses the display menu to allow the operator to set the maximum available hydraulic flow for smoother, more accurate loading.
Another innovation is the new ECO mode, operated via a switch in the cab to manage oil flow and engine RPM to reduce fuel consumption.
