New Massey Ferguson Machinery to be unveiled at LAMMA
A completely new Massey Ferguson tractor in the ever-important, smaller-to-medium horsepower range – the MF 5700 Global Series– is set to make its debut at January's LAMMA show.
At the same time, four new Massey Ferguson telehandler models will be unveiled, together with examples of the new MF 5700 SL and MF 6700 S tractor ranges, which replace the widely-praised MF 5600 and MF 6600 series.
Two mid-range models will represent the MF Global Series banner – the 100hp MF 5710 and the 110hp MF 5711 – which have been painstakingly designed to perform a wide range of operations on livestock, dairy and mixed farms. Their all-round capabilities embrace loader, field and transport work, while providing users with the largest cab in this competitive sector.
MF 5700 specifications include a range of features normally only found on larger tractors – turbo charger, with electronic wastegate, AdBlue injection in a patented, all-in-one system, creeper gearbox option. Power shuttle, with Power Control and Comfort Control, Easy Shift control button on the gear lever are additional benefits, together with 58L/min hydraulic flow as standard (100L optional) and a 4.3 tonne lift capacity.
Massey Ferguson's new TH telehandler line-up will also be a prominent feature of the company's substantial presence at the Peterborough event. The four models – MF TH6030, MF TH6534, MF TH7035 and MF TH7038 – are powered by 100hp and 130hp engines, with a lift capacity of between 3000kg and 3800kg to heights of 6.0m to 7.0m. Hydraulics come in at 100L/min flow or 190L/min flow, depending on the model.
Other key components of these remarkable machines include an electric parking brake, a new electric line ACD on the boom, and the option of an automatic fan inverter. With Autoshift in transport and three steering modes with semi-automatic alignment, these new telehandlers can also travel at up to 40km/hr.
Also in the LAMMA spotlight will be the new MF 5713 SL tractor. This 130hp, four-cylinder, 4.4-litre powered all-rounder also benefits from a turbocharger with electronic wastegate and AdBlue injection. It provides automatic engine braking by means of fan engagement, while the design incorporates the distinctive steep-nose bonnet.
A lift capacity of 5.2 tonnes, front axle suspension and the option of AutoGuide are just three of many more advanced features of these versatile tractors.
Further up the power curve, visitors to LAMMA will be able to take their first look at the new MF 6700 S Series, in the form of the MF 6718 S, a model capable of generating 175hp max (200hp with EPM). Now incorporating a turbocharger, with electronic wastegate, and with automatic engine braking through fan engagement, the MF 6700 S Series looks set to expand the fan base built by its predecessor.
Nevertheless, William Judge, Massey Ferguson's National Sales Manager, UK & Ireland, acknowledges that these are challenging times for agriculture and the machinery industry and that the company needs to work with the sector and try to accommodate every situation.
“The LAMMA show is a great way for us to showcase our latest 'full-line' machinery offering,” he states. “But, more importantly, it provides the opportunity for us to spend more time with current – and potentially future – customers in a welcoming environment on the Massey Ferguson stand.”
