With three bulls over £700 PLI, plus a further high ranking polled sire (+£663 PLI) all obtained as a result of their global sourcing and acquisition programme, Cogent really are the number one choice for profit focused genetics.

“Every farming system is different and we are delighted to offer a range of high ranking sires that are able to cater for that variety” explains Andrew Holliday, Dairy product manager for Cogent. “The top bulls always grab the headlines, but with 27 bulls over £600 PLI our offering is far reaching and has strength in depth”.

At £761 PLI, new release Silver son, Endco Argo RDC offers almost +70kgs of combined fat and protein, exceptional health traits and a phenomenal Type linear (TM +3.04) making him arguably the most attractive package in the breed. As the highest Red carrier bull in the breed, Argo excels for both PLI and GTPI making him a high demand sire across the globe for elite breeders and AI studs alike.

The all ready popular Supershot son, Endco Superhero saw a rise in PLI to £737 cementing his position as one of the breed’s greats. Much like his sire, Superhero looks set to have a long career at the top of the breed, having been used heavily as a sire of sons. Superhero is a high production sire (+848kgs Milk) with exceptional fertility (+10.9) and a near perfect type linear.

New release sire Endco Supreme, based at Cogent’s Canadian stud, is the third Cogent sire over £700 PLI at £713. Following the same pattern as Argo and Superhero, Supreme has huge amounts to offer, excelling for production, health traits and conformation alike. This Cashflow son comes from the famous Dragonfly cow family at Vieuxsale Holsteins in Quebec. His sire stack of Cashflow x Platinum x Sudan gives him a point of difference in the rankings that are dominated by Supershot bloodlines.

The only polled sire in the top 50 PLI rankings is Endco Evolve POC excelling for Milk (+554kgs), components (+0.09% fat and +0.08% protein), fertility (+8.3) and Type (+2.67) making him the most attractive polled sire on the market.

If components are important to you, Cogent can offer some of the best in the breed in Samovar (+0.32% fat and +0.08% protein), IHG Merlot (+0.28% fat and +0.08% protein) and Wiltor Dandy (+0.20% fat and +0.06% protein) who all join current stud favourites Wintersell Demon (+0.17% fat and +0.16% protein and Cogent Bill (+0.18% fat and +0.12% protein).

“We are excited to offer bulls that can make such a big impact to farm profitability” comments Andrew. “Regardless of the farming system we can tailor breeding plans accordingly, allowing for maximum genetic gain.”
