Settle Farmers Club’s £3,700 Charity Windfall

A charity social night staged by Settle Farmers Club raised the grand sum of £3,700 for two breast cancer charities - Knitted Knockers UK and Airedale Breast Unit Trust Fund.

The event was hosted by husband and wife, James and Deborah Ogden, of Owlet Hall Farm, Austwick – Mr Ogden is club chairman.

Mrs Ogden was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and had a recurrence in 2015, though hopefully everything is now fine with her.

The evening consisted of live music, a raffle and charity auction conducted by James’s brother Ted Ogden, also a club member and well qualified in his role as livestock sales manager and auctioneer at Skipton Auction Mart.

It attracted generous donations from many local businesses and was well supported by club members, family and friends. “We cannot thank them all enough. It was a tremendous result,” said the Ogdens.
