Booths Supermarket is a Mainline sponsor for NSA North Sheep
The National Sheep Association North Sheep event, has today announced that Booths Supermarkets are to support this year’s highly anticipated event as a mainline sponsor.
Taking place on Wednesday 5th June 2019 at New Hall Farm in Settle, North Yorkshire, this is the first time the biennial showcase has enjoyed the full support from a leading supermarket and highlights the strengthening relations between the sheep industry and the supply chain.
Commenting on the commitment received from Booths, Northern Regional Manager and Events Organiser, Heather Stoney-Grayshon, said:
“This is a major new initiative for the NSA and brings together the supply chain, with the view of working together for a stronger sheep industry going forward.
Booths are a highly respected supermarket, renowned for their quality produce and support for regional farmers. Their attendance at the 2019 North Sheep offers farmers a rare opportunity to talk to a major buyer and discuss current and changing needs for their product.
Booths’ support, as a supermarket, is unprecedented for an NSA event, and comes at a time when closer working relationships between the farming community and retailers are vital for our future understanding of the market place and success.”
Along with their major sponsor, Agri-Lloyd, NSA North Sheep have a number of mainline sponsors, which include AHDB, Beltex Sheep Society, CCM Auctions, Crystalyx, I’ Anson Feeds, Roxan ID, British Wool, and MSD.
NSA North Sheep, which expects to welcome up to 6,000 visitors, will offer industry seminars and workshops, demonstrations, a farm tour, and new to this year, the Booths Lamb corner – offering a selection of mouth-watering lamb dishes for all to taste. An area will also be dedicated to the next generation, to highlight the incredible talent the industry has and promote careers for young people involved in agriculture.
Speaking ahead of the event, John Gill, Marketing Manager for Booths, said:
“We’re proud to support the NSA North Sheep event in Settle. Booths is renowned for its commitment to seasonal produce and connections with rural industry. Many of our stores are in rural areas, and farmers and their families are our customers. Booths stock British lamb year-round and our commitment to supporting local farmers is unwavering. We use only British lamb in our Booths branded products and support seasonal breeds like Herdwick and Saltmarsh, alongside our standard UK lamb ranges.
Booths will be sharing our recipes about the versatility of lamb, sharing our local sourcing ethos with local school children and promoting the importance of British lamb to customers. Farmers are the very backbone of the British food industry and we’re keen to support both them and their Great British produce.”
