New Holland Receives Three EIMA Awards
New Holland Agriculture has secured three awards in the Technical Innovation Contest connected to the 2018 edition of EIMA International, the agricultural machinery exhibition to be held in Bologna from 7 to 11 November 2018.
Organised by FederUnacoma since 1986, the Technical Innovation Contest recognises and highlights innovative products for agriculture and gardening, with special attention devoted to technological breakthroughs in production quality, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Technical innovation award for the IntelliSense™ system on New Holland CR Revelation combines
Already recognised with a silver medal in the 2017 Agritechnica Innovation Award, the proactive and automatic setting system available on the CR Revelation combine harvesters maximises output and minimises grain loss and damage. An absolute first in the sector, this revolutionary system brings major productivity benefits to customers; the operator can choose from four operating strategies: Limited Loss, Best Grain Quality, Maximum Capacity and Fixed Throughput, and while the system sets up and adjusts all harvesting parameters the operator is free to focus exclusively on driving the machine. The patented cleaning shoe and Grain Cam™ sensors transmit extremely accurate load measurements and the combine uses the resulting data proactively for constant adaptation and adjustment of the vane angle and speed of the Twin Rotor™, travel speed, rotors rpm, OptiFan™ speed and pre-sieve, upper and lower sieve opening to obtain the required result automatically.
Special mention for the latest New Holland T5 Auto Command™ tractor series with continuously variable transmission and Stage V engine
The new T5 Auto Command™ tractor series, which will be unveiled at EIMA International 2018, will be celebrating the debut of the tested and award-winning Auto Command continuously variable transmission ideal for livestock and mixed farming. The transmission, which reflects the very latest CVT technology, is combined with the new specially developed FPT Industrial NEF Stage V 4.5 litre engine.
The panel of judges was particularly impressed with the new fully under-hood installation of the life-long exhaust gas after-treatment system. This highly integrated system improves visibility and manoeuvrability, increases operating versatility and raises the level of operator safety during inter-row and grassland operations, thanks to the increased ground clearance. The system incorporates all the key components: Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), AdBlue injector, SCR system with filter and a second SCR coupled to a Clean-Up Catalyst (CUC), which removes residual particulate upstream from the exhaust pipe. Developed by FPT Industrial and named HI-eSCR2, this solution eliminates the need for replacements during the tractor's lifetime, thus reducing operating costs.
The dimensions of the new power unit are unchanged with respect to the earlier version, but it has been designed to assure exceptional productivity with very low running costs. Rated power is from 110 to 140hp, which means up to 20hp more than the current T5.120 Electro Command model. The result is an engine that delivers best-in-class power and torque density: the ideal heart of the new T5 Auto Command™ series, which aspires to become a firm favourite with farmers all over the world.
Special mention for the Intelligent Trailer Braking System
Likewise recognised with a silver medal at Agritechnica and recently introduced on the T7 Auto Command ™ and T6 AutoCommand ™ tractor models, the patented Intelligent Trailer Braking System improves tractor stability during deceleration with a trailer, resulting in increased safety during transport operations. In general, when a tractor and trailer are slowed using the transmission and engine braking alone, the momentum of the trailer will be transmitted to the tractor in the form of thrust force. The award-winning system acts by detecting the drop in tractor speed and calculating the deceleration force by means of a torque sensor built into the transmission. An electronically controlled trailer brake valve then automatically applies the trailer brakes so that the deceleration rate of the trailer matches that of the tractor.
