Meat-Source, a free interactive guide to the whole red meat supply
chain, is now live on the Red Meat Industry Forum (RMIF) website.
The comprehensive guide is the first of it's kind and comes in
response to industry requests for a central hub of information
to help new entrants gain a broad understanding of the red meat
supply chain.
Meat-Source details all you need to know, from farm to fork, in
a simple and interesting format. It includes photos, graphs, a
glossary of terms, references to more information and links to
useful websites.
The new e-book includes a wealth of information: from statistics
about where consumers buy beef to explanations of carcass classification,
from the structure and distribution of marketing chains to pig
imports.
Meat-Source is free to reference and can also be downloaded and
printed off. Click here to take a look.
Martin Grantley-Smith, RMIF Manager said: "Meat-Source is
a must for new entrants and can also act as a reference for others.
It is a very useful tool to promote cooperation between different
red meat businesses, as it is a great way of gaining a more in-depth
understanding of how other parts of the supply chain work. Meat-Source
compliments other initiatives currently being undertaken by the
RMIF to help address staff retention and training issues at the
request of the industry."
About the RMIF
"The RMIF is determined to help the British red meat industry recapture - and maintain - a leading position in the market place.
The RMIF believes that the spotlight must fall on red meat businesses in their entirety, not just on individual producers, in order to enable whole supply chains to achieve world-class status - and to provide an outstanding example of efficiency and quality with continuous business improvement.
Crucial to achieving these industry-wide benefits is the inclusion of the entire supply chain."
