Haltcliffe Vermount - 100,000gns

Local breeders Matt and Craig Ridley of the Haltcliffe herd based at
Hesket-new-Market have taken the current record price for a Limousin
bull, which was set only three years ago by Grahams Samson, and have
nearly doubled it with their bull Haltcliffe Vermount which sold for
a staggering 100,000gns.
Vermount, a May 2004 born son of Penyrheol Sam a Ronick Hawk son,
and is out of the French imported cow Renoncule who produced last
years sale topper Haltcliffe Ullswater at 43,000gns. Vermount scooped
up the Supreme Championship award at the pre-sale judging the evening
prior. He was eventually sold to join the Procters herd of Procters
Farm Ltd at Slaidburn, Nr Clitheroe.
The Reserve Supreme Champion bull from Ian Nimmo of New Mains Wishaw
took the next leading price tag of 15,000gns for Maraiscote Volt,
a son of Tyddyn Mei and out of a Goldies Glenfiddach bred daughter.
Volt now heads south to join the Fleethill herd of Michael Gray at
Llandrindod Wells.
