The on-farm production sale from the Brockhurst herd of WJ & M
Mash Ltd was held at Torrington Farm, Chesham, Bucks on Saturday
30th September 2006, saw two embryo calves go under the hammer for
the top price of 3,000gns apiece.

Sold with their respective recipient dams, the mating that triggered
these sale leaders was the pairing of Grahams Samson, the ILC 2004
National Show Champion bought for a then Limousin world record price
of 55,000gns, and Ronick McAinsi, the Royal Show Overall Supreme
Limousin Champion 2004.
The first of these embryo calves was the April 2006 born bull calf,
Brockhurst Bullseye, who sold to Mr TF & Mrs R Evans, New Farm,
Sutton Road, Haddenham, Ely, Cambs. Following him into the ring was
Brockhurst Bayonet, another bull calf born 25th April, when selling
to Mr & Mrs RD Taylor, The Beavers, South Stewkley, Bucks.
Overall, the sale met with a solid trade for females with 9 cows
served or with calf at foot averaging £1,471 and 23 young maiden
heifers averaging £848.
Hitting the 2,600gns mark was the 1998 born fifth calver, Lumbylaw
Oclock, a Lumbylaw Handsome daughter and out of Lumbylaw Lulu, herself
by HaltcliffeHercules. She sold with her calf at foot, Brockhurst
Beetle, and was purchased in calf to Brockhurst Premier by an undisclosed
buyer.
Smiths of Bloxham, Newlands Farm, Milton Road, Bloxham, Banbury,
Oxon purchased the maiden heifer, Brockhurst Voulezvous, who had
accompanied her dam, the French-bred Reseda, during a successful
summer show season. Born in November 2004, Voulezvous is by Brockhurst
Premier and had a price tag of 2,600gns.
Going under the hammer to an undisclosed buyer for 2,400gns was
the six year old cow Brockhurst Rioja. This Ronick McAinsi daughter
and by the home-bred sire Brockhurst Macari, was sold with her heifer
calf, Brockhurst Barolo, at foot and was purchased in calf to prolific
stock bull Brockhurst Premier.
2,100gns was the price paid by Messrs Hodges & Son, Buttermilk
Farm, Oving, Aylesbury, Bucks for Brockhurst Sky. A 2001 born second
calver she was sold with her Brockhurst Premier sired heifer calf,
Brockhurst Autumn, at foot and was purchased once again in calf to
Premier.
