The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward
9 Spring lambs, 4887 hoggs and 2610 cast ewes & rams at their
weekly sale at Longtown which, due to Easter, was held on Tuesday
3rd April 2007.

Included in the sale was the Easter prize show and sale of Spring
lambs which was judged by Mr. D. Williams, Manager of Smiths
Hotel, Gretna Green who kindly sponsored the show. The championship
was won by Miss H Martindale, Land, Ecclefechan with lambs weighing
47.5kg and selling at £100 each to Smiths Hotel, Gretna
Green.
Hoggs were a good show and peaked at £59 for North Country
Cheviots from Craig View. Suffolk x £58 Upper Mains, Charollais £57
