Top Suffolk sheep breeder, Myfyr Evans, of the renowned Rhaeadr flock - is tickled pink that his son, Mark, is through to the last four in the BBC’s Eurovision 'Your Country Needs You' competition.

As a result Myfyr and Mark’s Mum, Sue, are urging the farming fraternity to support his Euro-vision bid with Andrew Lloyd-Webber, which is broadcast on Saturday nights at 7pm. Says Myfyr: “There are just two weeks left, we would much appreciate support and votes from fellow farmers.

“We are delighted for Mark, it is a busy time of year for us with the lambing and this has just added to a very frantic January, but we are keeping our fingers crossed and his Mum and I are very proud of him.”
Mark was brought up on the family farm at Llanrhaeadr, North Wales, he was educated in the village school, and there were four pupils in his year and 23 children in the school as a whole. He is totally bi-lingual, speaks Welsh with his father and English with his mum Sue. At twelve, his mother took him to the local dance school. As the only boy in class it felt like The Billy Elliot story.

Top talent Mark's first performance was singing "Walking in the Air" in Welsh in the local supermarket. His career really took off when he made his West End debut in Spamalot before playing heart throb Troy in High School Musical earlier this year.

Mark is currently playing Prince Charming in Cinderella at the Churchill Theatre Bromley alongside Steve Guttenburg and Helen Lederer. Reviews include: "He has the looks of a real Prince Charming and a singing voice to match" - The Stage. He also appears in advertising campaigns for a famous clothing chain.

In his own words: "I know that this is now part of something massive and I am confident that it is the right thing for me to do"
