Last year’s event saw the lamb judged as the winner raise what was estimated to be aworld record price of £1,450! The total raised by the 26 lambs donated by kind-hearted farmers was £3,470.

This year, the lambs will be judged by James Dewhirst, a buyer for Stanforths Butchers in Skipton, at 11am, before Craven Cattle Marts’ general manager Jeremy Eaton auctions the champion at around 11.30.

The sale of the other donated lambs will follow, with all proceeds going to the hospice, which cares for over 650 local people each year.

Sue Ryder Care fundraiser Andrew Wood expressed delight that the group has chosen to support Manorlands once again. “This event is growing in reputation and the kind rural community have helped to raise over £5,000 in the past two years alone for the hospice. We hope that plenty of farmers will support us and try to win the prestigious Pearson Farm Supplies Trophy this year,” he said.

Any farmers wishing to donate a Mule wether lamb should just bring it on the day or can contact John Mawson on 07796332750.
