Beef farmers and stockmen who visit the XLVets stand at Beef Expo can sign up for on-farm training courses including weaning of calves, bull fertility and soundness testing, and improving production efficiency.
Practical on-farm courses for those working in the beef industry, including bull fertility and soundness testing, are available from the XLVets stand at Beef Expo.

Alternatively, courses on a specific topic can be devised, if requested. Funded through XLVets’ FarmSkills programme, all courses provide practical and business-focused learning for as little as £45 for a day’s course.
XLVets’ training development manager Sophie Throup explains: “The FarmSkills training modules are available nationwide to anyone with an interest in improving the health and productivity of the livestock enterprise, regardless of whether their local vet practice is a member of XLVets or not.
“Beef workshops, already planned for the autumn, include improving fertility, and the more effective finishing of cattle. However, if there’s a specific topic that’s not covered, and that farmers would like to know more about, then we can devise a course to meet that need.”
