Julian Smith, MP for Skipton and Ripon joined the annual Yorkshire Young Farmers County Show at Nidderdale Showground, Pateley Bridge on Sunday 6th June.
This was the eighth annual County Show and represented the biggest day in Yorkshire Young Farmers calendar with nearly 80 different competitions and 2000 competitors.
Julian commented ‘This is a fantastic event showcasing the world class quality of Yorkshire farming. The energy and passion is particularly reassuring given recent concerns about succession planning in the industry.
As MP for one or Yorkshire’s largest farming constituencies, I will work flat out to ensure Yorkshire young farmers are freed from red tape and can get on with building successful, profitable businesses that were so strongly in evidence today’.
At the event, Julian invited Young Farmers Clubs in Skipton and Ripon to visit Westminster to assist his campaign to get the needs of the area’s farmers heard loudly and clearly by the new government.
