Colin Hoe Insures Success at Northumberland County Show
2011-04-06

David Henderson Tractors of Acomb will have even more reason to work hard at the Northumberland County Show on 30th May this year, as the winner of the Best Agricultural Trade Stand in 2010 David will be hoping to retain his title in 2011.

David Henderson tractors, winners of Best Agricultural Trade Stand 2010, receiving their certificate from the show secretary.

Best Agricultural Trade Stand

With the support of Colin Hoe Insurance of Hexham this year’s winner will receive a 20% discount on their trade stand in 2012.

“This year has been the fastest selling year for trade space at the show with all space fully booked by January. Many of the agricultural stands have asked for extra space which may be one reason why we have filled up so quickly” said Gaynor Shotton, now busy with her sixth show as Secretary.

“The agricultural dealers, with large tractors and implements put in so much time and effort preparing their stands. They start on the Friday and spend all weekend setting up and cleaning their equipment for the show on Bank Holiday Monday” adds Thomas Harrison, Show Director.

“I have been to a lot of shows and seen the agricultural trade stands and we appreciate how much extra effort they put in at Tynedale Park, just the little touches with their displays makes all the difference and we want to reward them for their efforts”, said Mr David Carr, Chairman of Tynedale Agricultural Society, the voluntary body that runs the Northumberland County Show.

Ian Walker of Colin Hoe Insurance Consultants in Hexham is the new sponsor of the Agricultural Trade Stands Competition and his support has made this 20% discount for first prize and 10% discount for second prize possible. “I am a long time supporter of the show with many of my clients being from the local community and am looking forward to being more involved with the day,” said Mr Walker.

As this is the first year Colin Hoe Insurance Consultants have sponsored the Agricultural Trade Stands Mr Walker himself will be judging. Even though there is only first and second place with such a high standard he will have his work cut out. He says he will be looking for extra little touches and attention to detail that will make one stand out from the other large agricultural merchants.

Agriculture remains firmly at the heart of the show at Tynedale Park, Corbridge and entries have been arriving at the office for the horses, cattle and sheep well before the closing date of 1st May.

With 28,000 visitors in 2010 the organising committee are hoping for another fine day on 30th May for another fantastic Northumberland County Show.
