NFU Scotland's New
Regional Teams Elected
07/02/05
NFUS President John Kinnaird has welcomed the Union's new regional
chairmen and vice chairmen who have now been elected across Scotland.
Elected by their fellow farmers, the new office-bearers will play
a key role in NFUS activity in its nine regions.
NFUS President John Kinnaird said:
"It is extremely encouraging to see the new faces coming
through to represent the Union. We also welcome back some Chairmen
for another term of office. The regional structure is crucial to
the success of the Union as a whole. It ensures that NFUS activity
takes account of the view of all its members on the ground. Likewise,
there are many issues specific to certain areas and the activity
of the local NFUS is absolutely vital to the farm businesses in
the area.
"I welcome the new regional top teams. There is a great deal
of work ahead this year, but it is clear the Union is being lead
by a group of very committed and capable individuals."
