Ready To Beef Up The
French Market
12/02/05
THE expected full return of English Quality beef and British cattle
to foreign markets will be a major talking point on the English
Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) stand at this year's SIA
farming show in Paris.
The Show - which runs from February 26 to March 6 - presents
EBLEX with the chance to tell the trade and public about new beef
developments and products resulting from work done by EBLEX in
France.
The stand, in Hall 1 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition, will
also have space to exhibit examples of three English breeds of
sheep and for the first time in France Wensleydales will join Hampshire
Down and Suffolk breeds.
The theme of the stand will project positive aspects of English
rural life such as nature, tradition and quality.
Simon Mead, EBLEX DEputy Chief Executive, said: “It is vital
we continue to talk about Quality English beef and its merits well
in advance of the lifting of the OTM Scheme and the DBES export
regulations so that we can start serious exports of beef and cattle
as soon as possible.”
