Tama Plastic Industry court settlement

Tama Plastic Industry is pleased to announce that the Court of Mannheim, Germany, has accorded final confirmation to a settlement of the patent infringement suit that was brought by Tama against RKW.

RKW is a manufacturer of round bale netwrap which is sold under various brand names including Rondotex and Rondosil. Under the terms of the settlement, in addition to a certain monetary compensation to Tama, RKW is to cease production of net with "Edge to Edge" characteristics as described in Tama's European Patent nr. EP 0919655 B1.

Edge to Edge is a production technology which enables bale wrap net to spread across the full width of the bale. The settlement allows for RKW to sell off a limited quantity of the net which was produced prior to the settlement and held in stock; however that stock will now not be replenished.

Tama sees this development as an important element in its ongoing commitment to product innovation. Tama will continue to invest its funds and its efforts in developing new ideas and bringing them to fruition; and will continue to defend its rights to the resulting intellectual property.
