Improved Off Label Pesticide Information Service

Farmers and growers have a new state-of-the-art website to simplify their access to information about off label approvals for pesticide products.

The Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD) has replaced its existing Specific Off Label Approval Database (SOLAWEB) with a new user-friendly system designed around the needs of farmers and growers.

The key benefits of this free service are:
• A comprehensive, flexible and simple to use search facility
• An up to date on-line library of all off label approvals

The service allows users to search all of PSD's off-label approvals not only by product name and MAPP/Product Registration number, but by field of use, crop or situation, and by a particular pest or disease where this is specified in the approval documentation.

It will also allow users to download a digitally signed copy of the most up to date version of each off-label approval. Digitally signed documents have the same legal validity as conventionally signed documents.

PSD Approval Support Manager Rachel Brown commented:

"The new service will be a significant improvement over the previous database in terms of its speed, reliability, completeness and clarity. Information will be simpler to search, more clearly presented and easier to follow".
