North Sheep 2005 to
be staged in Cumbria
18/03/05
Lamb will be given a major boost at the National Sheep Association
northern region's biennial one day event, North Sheep 2005
to be staged on Wednesday 1 June at Whinfell Park, near Penrith,
Cumbria.
The 14th technical event of its kind, North Sheep 2005 will be
building on its previous success with a crowd of more than 8,000
and 200 trade stands. The event will focus on the way ahead for
the British sheep industry post MTR and how producers will be able
to maintain their businesses, says the event chairman Carl Stephenson.
“UK sheep producers have demonstrated on countless occasions
they have that ability to adapt,” he says. “North Sheep
2005 will provide a timely opportunity for them to stop and consider
how MTR and the new SFP are influencing their enterprises, and
offer information and advice on how to fine tune their operations
to maintain an efficient and sustainable business. In addition,
a series of popular technical seminars will be staged covering
a range of appropriate topics.”
He adds: “North Sheep 2005 is once again designed to raise
our industry's profile at home and abroad, lift product demand
and ultimately bring that boost to trade and income.”
