| 13/04/05 Shepherds from across the UK are already showing interest in Harrison & Hetherington's
inaugural sale of working and unbroken sheep dogs and puppies at
              Lazonby Mart in May.
The mart at Lazonby has more than 20 acres of grassland and it
offers ideal facilites for the first sale of sheep dogs on Wednesday
May 11. Auctioneer Ted Ogden said: "Dogs can be entered into two sections - one for working
dogs where the handler can run the dog on a few ewes in the field
with gates set up, and a section for unbroken dogs and puppies
where the dogs will be allowed to show their instincts on sheep
in a pen. “People have already contacted Harrison & Hetherington
from Northern Ireland and we're expecting it to have widespread
appeal to shepherds from Scotland, Wales and the northern counties
of England. "Sheep dogs are a valuable asset to any shepherd and we are
anticipating a large crowd at the sale." Entry forms are available from H&H's Kirkby Stephen Mart office.
Information required for entry includes name, age, colour, whether
registered or un-registered, eye-tested and details of experience
so that a comprehensive catalogue can be compiled. Entries close
              on Monday April 25. |
