GARDEN sponsored by the English Beef and lamb Executive (EBLEX)
has scooped gold at the Chelsea Flower Show.
The famous England cricketing duo appeared in the gold medal winning "From
Field to Fork" display in the Flower Pavilion in a garden
designed to promote the best of UK grown fruits, flowers, vegetables,
plants and - for the first time - livestock.
Beefy and Lamby are the stars of a series of EBLEX TV advertisements
promoting the English Quality Marks for beef and lamb.
The display, built in co-operation with the NFU, was designed
by multi-gold medal winner Penny Riley.
Jane Ritchie Smith, EBLEX Marketing Brand Manager, said: "Winning
a Gold at Chelsea is a marvellous way of bringing the Quality Standard
Marks once more into the public eye.
"This win will add yet more weight to the value of the English
Quality Beef and Lamb Scheme."
And NFU President Tim Bennett, said: "NFU Horticulture is
pleased to be working with EBLEX to promote our farmers' and growers'
best produce."
