Prize Money In Beef Expo Stockjudging Competitions

Visitors to Beef Expo 2005 at Builth Wells on Wednesday, June
8, will have the opportunity of competing for top prize money in
both open and young farmers' stockjudging competitions.
Top prize in the open competition, sponsored by Yara UK Ltd, is £500
plus a perpetual trophy, with a total prize pool of £1000.
Competitors in the senior section of the young farmers' stockjudging
competition can also win a top prize of £500, generously
donated by the Duke of Northumberland, with a first prize of £200
going to the winner of the junior section. Both winners will also
receive an all-expenses paid trip to the 2006 Royal Smithfield
Show in London, courtesy of the Royal Smithfield Club.
Additional awards are being made by the British Charolais Cattle
Society, the British Limousin Cattle Society, the British Belgian
Blue Cattle Society, Superior and Frank R Marshall and Co.
Members of any young farmers' club in Wales, England, Scotland
or Northern Ireland may compete. Entry can be made on the day on
presentation of membership cards.
Visitors can also take part in an Estimated Deadweight and Grading
Classification Competition on the HCC/Meat Promotion Wales stand,
with a first prize of £200.
The Royal Smithfield Club's “Beef Ribs” competition
will also be held at Beef Expo 2005.
