Texting TAG!

The Arable Group has extended its range of services to Members by introducing a message texting system to alert Members to important events and disease/pest alerts.

Richard Overthrow, the Technical Co-ordinator of TAG, commenting on the new service said "Our Members have the option to join the additional free service and we have assured them that we will only use the system for important messages. So far we have reminded growers of important diary dates such as Field Days but now we are alerting them to our Wheat Orange Blossom Midge monitoring results. Information from 15 of our 23 sites around the country, where pheromone traps are being used to monitor the presence and levels of WOBM, is already being placed on our website and we are also alerting Members by SMS text".
