ADDITIONAL wealth of experience in the livestock industry has been brought to the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) with the appointment of new board member Peter King.
Peter heads up the livestock team at the National Farmers Union for England and Wales and most of his time is spent communicating with members, opinion formers and the supply chain.
Before taking over livestock, he was the chief poultry adviser within the NFU and previously held the position of Economist within the NFU and the Home Grown Cereals Authority where he established himself as the arable policy specialist.
EBLEX Chairman John Cross said "We have a strong board, representing our English beef and sheep levy payers, which is delivering real production and marketing befits back to our producers and processors.
"I'm delighted to have Peter King join the team. He has a lot he can contribute".
A number of the other 11-strong board members have recently been reappointed. The board now comprises:
