NEW livestock stalls for this year's National Primestock Show & Sale at Stafford Showground on November 19th & 20th are being erected as organisers start preparations for allocating space ahead of the deadline for entries on October 19th.
According to show secretary Kate Tomlinson a flurry of entries is expected as the deadline draws near. "As with the county show at Stafford the mail bag for the Primestock gets bigger as the deadline approaches, so we'd encourage exhibitors to get the forms in as soon as possible."
New galvanised stalls have been supplied by specialist livestock equipment manufacturer Leek-based IAE and is part of a continuous programme of investment by the show's organiser, the Staffordshire & Birmingham Agricultural Society (SBAS).
Show chairman George Young is impressed with the new kit for the Bingley Hall venue. "We have worked hard to improve facilities for exhibitors and this is just part of the Society's improvements for this year's Primestock."
Some stalls has already been put to use temporarily helping out at one of Scotland's leading agricultural shows earlier this season, explains Richard Williams, SBAS chief executive. "The Society was pleased to be able to help when asked and we expect stalling to be delivered back in the next few weeks as preparations in Bingley Hall get underway."
Entries for this year's show - kindly sponsored by the English Beef & Lamb Executive and which includes a £16,000 prize fund in addition to new awards for native breeds - can be submitted by requesting schedules from the show secretary, Mrs Tomlinson, on 01283 820012.
