Today, telehandlers are common machines in the agricultural industry.
Thanks to their manoeuvrability and power, they offer many large
companies and contractors the most efficient solution for almost
all materials handling jobs.
The
new CLAAS SCORPION telehandler is the result of the recently formed
collaboration between CLAAS and Kramer in Überlingen (Lake
Constance).
The new SCORPION is the only telehandler in its class to have a
continuously variable VARIPOWER transmission, which ensures the
highest tractive power. Powerful engines of 75, 90 or 100 kW, based
on ISO 9249, are available. The engine is mounted at a 90° angle
to the driving direction making it easily accessible for maintenance.
Acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h occurs without shifting, ensuring
full power is available for all working conditions.
The SCORPION is always extremely flexible: no corner’s too
tight, no passage too narrow. Thanks to its compact external dimensions,
it even works where no other tractor with front loader can even
reach. The machine can be manoeuvred quickly and precisely, down
to the centimetre. The all-wheel drive is ideal for work and the
high steering lock angle enables a turning radius of 3.55 metres – unbeatable
in its class.
The driver always has all four wheels in view. This is made possible
by the spacious comfort cab with a true 360º view. It also
guarantees the best view of the loading attachment – from
any position – because the SCORPION does not have the normally
conventional crossbar between the front windscreen and the roof.
SCORPION is extremely easy to drive and your left hand never has
to leave the steering wheel. All loading functions and the driving
direction, including forwards and backwards movements, are comfortably
controlled using the joystick with the right hand. It can be adjusted
perfectly for each driver and can be operated intuitively after
just a short period of time.
Thanks to its telescopic boom, the SCORPION reaches shake-out heights
and ranges of coverage that can normally only be achieved by much
larger machines. The telescopic boom is fitted with a switch-operated
shock absorber and is available with a lift height of 6.10 or 7.10
metres, as well as lifting capacities of 3.0 to 4.1 tonnes. Thus,
the four models in the SCORPION series will be small but strong
powerhouses.
