| 03/02/06 TOP Dutch and Belgian hoteliers and restaurateurs got the taste
of superior quality beef and lamb when the English Beef and Lamb
Executive (EBLEX) put on a display at a gourmet food fair in
Maastricht. Stars at the European Fine Food Fair were Cotswold lamb and
Aberdeen Angus St Georges beef. The appearance at the show on February 23 to 25 was part of
a campaign to demonstrate the English beef on offer as one of
the finest on Continental markets and to prepare for the ending
of regulations on UK beef exports. Jean-Pierre Garnier, EBLEX Export Manager, said: "Our stand
was visited by many of Holland's top chefs who were highly appreciative
and complimentary of the beef and lamb they tasted. "We are extremely optimistic about future markets in the
Benelux countries, especially in the top quality catering sector."
