| 14/03/06 SHEEPSKINS from Britain will soon be finding their way to Northern
Africa following a new agreement brokered during a meeting with
a Moroccan Government delegation. A certificate to allow the export of the skins to Morocco has
been issued following the meeting with representatives from the
English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX), Defra, UK Trade and Investment
and the International Agriculture and Technology Centre (IATC). For British exporters, Morocco has until now been a completely
untapped market. Jean-Pierre Garnier, EBLEX Meat Export Manager, said: "It
is extremely important for us to have reliable markets for sheepskins.
The price of the skins helps to add value to each animal our livestock
              farmers produce." NFU
