FABBL, the UK food industry’s leading inspection and certification
organisation, is sponsoring a two day show and sale of cattle at
the Harrison & Hetherington's Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday
24th and Saturday 25th March.
Special prize shows & sales of Continental Cross store cattle
including many animals with show potential. First day - heifers,
Second day - steers.
“The Borderway Mart is an important showcase for some of
the best cattle early in the year and it’s a great pleasure
to be able to provide sponsorship,” says Chris Reading FABBL
General Manager of Agriculture UK. “We at FABBL believe in
giving the proper recognition to the best in British agriculture
and the prizes we’re sponsoring at the Borderway Mart are
designed to show just what UK beef producers can achieve.”
“FABBL assurance is the one guarantee of quality respected
throughout the industry,” he says. “EFSIS-FABBL is
the only inspection body that can give you that assurance.”
On the Friday there is a show of heifers at 9 am, followed by
a sale at 10.30am. This is followed by a show of steers on the
Saturday, also at 9 am, with a sale at 10.30 am. FABBL will be
sponsoring both shows with prizes of free FABBL inspection for
the winning animals. More than 2,200 animals are expected to be
entered for this event.
“This show and sale has a national reputation for trading
many high quality cattle with show ring potential, which provides
an excellent opportunity for purchasers to obtain animals to go
to the summer shows and national prime stock events in the autumn. The
sale also has a great selection of commercial type animals suitable
for the specialist retail trade,” says David Pritchard, Operations
Director of Harrison & Hetherington. “We’re very
pleased to have sponsorship from FABBL for a show which is sure
to bring out the best livestock on offer.”
