ENGLISH beef is heading for Cyprus for the first time as the English
Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) launches a promotion in Carrefour
              hypermarkets.
English beef, already available in shops in Greece, will be promoted
during September in the Carrefour chain in Cyprus during the autumn.
This represents a major breakthrough in the EBLEX push to increase
market penetration in this small, but important, market.
Export Manager for EBLEX, Jean-Pierre Garnier, said: “We
are delighted with this first development and the promotion with
a major European hypermarket chain – especially as it has
come only three months after the lifting of the EU export ban on
              British beef.

“We are now in discussion with a number of other European
supermarket chains and are expecting more good news from them over
            the next few months.”
