HOW can you make management of your flock easier and ensure resources
such as machinery and labour are being used to their best advantage?

The answers, along with a swathe of other activities, will be
available on the English Beef and Sheep Executive (EBLEX) stand
in the Avon Hall at the Sheep 2006 Event at Malvern’s Three
Counties Showground on Tuesday August 2.
Free copies of the latest EBLEX Better Returns manual on Easier
Management will be available to English levy payers and its author,
John Vipond from the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC), will
be on hand to give help and advice to farmers on a one-to-one basis.
Also available on the stand will be the 2006 Better Returns Recorded
Flocks Directory and during the day lamb butchery demonstrations
will be held to highlight the physical and financial differences
between producing lean and over fat carcases.
The stand will also play host, in conjunction with the National
Sheep Association (NSA), to the National Lamb Selection Competition
and visitors to the stand will be able to brush up their lamb selection
skills with the help of Better Returns trainers.
Chris Lloyd, EBLEX Industry Development Manager said: “The
EBLEX Better Returns stand will have more activity and more to
offer levy payers than ever before – we are looking forward
to welcoming and talking to sheep farmers from all over the country.”
