The show and sale of rare, minority and traditional breeds, including
sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry and waterfowl, is once more sponsored
by Gray’s of Shenstone, Staffordshire – one of the
UK’s leading supplier of Border Fine Arts figurines.
The event is again being staged in association with the Dales Support
Group of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and the prize fund includes £150
for the sheep champion and £100 for the cattle champion.
There are plenty of attractions throughout the day, which runs
from 9am to 4pm, beginning with the Gray’s Border Fine Arts
event, which includes a free prize draw for a limited edition model
worth £295.
Of all-round family interest are Shetland pony and trap rides,
display of working tractors, The British Legion Band, spinning,
knitting and other demonstrations, along with craft and food stalls,
many promoting locally grown produce.
Also on the menu are Craven Feather Auctions of poultry and fowl,
plus Agri-Trader Auctions featuring sales of machinery, reclamation
and salvage, garden, antique, homemaker and lifestyle lots. Entries
for all auctions are open until the time of sale.
