Two brand new six cylinder tractors from John Deere, the 7430
and 7530, extend the 6000 Series full frame concept for the first
time into the horsepower range between 180 and 200hp. These newly
designed Mannheim made models have been developed particularly
for the growing market segment of lightweight tractors in this
              power class.
Both the 7430 and 7530 are built on a larger steel frame than
the 6000 Series machines. This provides an excellent power to
weight ratio of 30kg/hp and a maximum power rating on the 7530
in excess of 200hp. The new frame is designed to carry 42in tyres,
to provide the increased payload, traction and versatility required
by tractors in this market sector. The combination of Intelligent Power Management system, 6.6
tonne shipping weight and lift capacity of up to 9 tonnes make
these tractors ideal for a range of demanding transport and field
applications. Both models feature a choice of PowerQuad Plus,
Autoquad Plus with Eco Shift or Autopowr transmissions and are
designed to accommodate the full range of AMS (Agricultural Management
Solutions) GreenStar precision farming options. Other features include a new rear axle and rear three-point
hitch with Cat 3 linkage, and a 20 per cent larger cooling package
specifically designed to allow maximum engine performance during
the hottest conditions. Fuel tank capacity is 385 litres. To illustrate the versatility of these new tractors, here are
two typical case studies: • A large 190ha mixed farm with 230 cows may require a
powerful tractor for mowing, pulling a slurry tanker and for
cultivations. A 7430 with AutoPowr transmission will be the right
tractor for this farm’s transport and pto requirements,
which will benefit from the increased horsepower generated by
the Intelligent Power Management system. The tractor features
a new 110 litre capacity hydraulic pump, hydraulic centre link,
load adjustable Triple Link Suspension and the new Headland Management
System, which is programmable for up to five different implements
and applications. This tractor could be upgraded by an optional
GreenStar 2100 or 2600 display, incorporating ISO-Bus implement
control, field documentation and parallel tracking systems. • A silage contractor may be looking for a tractor to carry
a triple mower conditioner combination, such as John Deere’s
131 front mounted and 381 rear mounted units, which offer a working
width of up to 8.1m. Depending on harvesting conditions, this
machine can mow as much as 10ha/hr. Thanks to the Intelligent
                Power Management system, the 7530 tractor can develop over 200hp;
in combination with EcoShift it can also use up to 15 per cent
less fuel. A high level of operator comfort is provided by the
new hydraulic cab suspension system, and by also using AutoTrac
assisted steering with SF2 signal accuracy, the productivity
of this tractor can be increased by up to 8 per cent. For bills
and invoicing, fuel consumption per field and performance per
hour can be automatically recorded and transferred to desktop
software programs using an AMS GreenStar system.
