The event, which will look at the agronomic and financial considerations of new crops as well as marketing opportunities, is targeted at farmers, advisors and the supply industry. There will be a range of industry and farmer speakers who have experience in growing alternative crops.

“Both farmer and agronomist need to be well informed when planning cropping and rotations” explains, Alan Bide, consultant and chairman of the seminar. “The recent launch of New Crop Opportunities, a unique resource which provides an independent data base of new crops and new markets for food, fuel, industrial and pharmaceuticals, will open up the potential for alternative crops. In addition it provides full market details, as well as information on traders, seed supplies and buyers. We are delighted that HGCA is supporting this event, and that its crop marketing director, Alastair Dickie will be presenting the latest news on the ever changing markets for cereals, oilseed rape, and sugar beet.”
