Vendors of the champion lambs at Kirkby Stephen mart on Tuesday (Nov 28) were Martin and Val Brown and daughter Hannah from Beechwood House, Newton Le Willows, Bedale.

The lambs were purchased at £115 each by Ivan Brown, to be sold through his butchers shop at The Market Square, Kirkby Stephen.

Martin and Val are mixed beef and sheep farmers, running Mule and Texel Beltex cross ewes and they are also well known as regular store cattle vendors at Kirkby Stephen.

The six lambs were awarded the supreme Championship and weighed 35kg average Liveweight with an average carcass weight of £20.8kg representing a killing out rate of nearly 60 per cent.
