| 31/01/07           The Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department
                (SEERAD) are organising a series of meetings aimed at giving
              sheep keepers the opportunity to learn more about sheep ID rules.  Scott Walker, NFU Scotland Policy Director, said: “On sheep ID, Scotland is in the spotlight as far as Brussels
                is concerned. It is important that the keepers of sheep are kept
                informed of the rules concerning sheep ID so that we have the
                best chance of keeping our derogation from double tagging and
                the individual recording of sheep movements.  We will be
                having another EU inspection shortly and so we must ensure that
                everything is running smoothly. “These meetings will allow producers the chance to ask
                questions and address queries over sheep ID.   In particular,
                issues such as the amalgamation of holdings or the 5 mile concession
                will be explained and clarified.” The meetings will be taking place on the following dates and
