Charolais led Perth’s spring multi-breed show and sale with
a top call of 5,000gns on Monday 7 May. Sale leader was Balthayock
Aaron, a 20 month old within the breed’s top 10% with a Beef
Value of CH28 from Major David Walter, Perth.

Sired by Bowerhouses Topper and out of a homebred cow going back
to Dingle Hofmeister, Aaron sold to D and M Allan, Castletown, Thurso.
Conval Ash, a two year by Mortimers Unique headed his class and
later sold for 3,000gns. Bred and exhibited by JA and AM Gauld, Dufftown,
Keith he travelled to Orkney with WSL Muir, Corrigall, Harray. A
second 24 month old Unique son from the same breeders, this time
Conval Ash made 2,200gns to JEG Mitchell, Comrie, Perth.
Two lots were bid to 2,800gns each. First to go was Thrunton Andreas
CH22 from the Campbell family, Ian, John and their father Colin,
of Thrunton, Alnwick to D Taylor, Rumbling Bridge, Kinross. This
Blelack Jaguar son was out of a homebred cow by the 25,000gns Perth
supremo, Mowbraypark Orlando.
The second 2,800gns call was made by EF Henderson and Son, Glen Clova,
Kirriemuir for the 19 month old Balthayock Alexis CH41 from Major
Walter. Alexis was by Dingle Hofmeister and out of a homebred dam
going back to Blelack Majestic.
