Semex UK is calling upon members of the Holstein Young Breeders
who think they can ‘walk the walk’ to step forward
and be in with a chance to represent the UK in the prestigious
Semex Walk of Fame progeny showcase held at the Canadian Royal
              Agricultural Winter Fair in November.

Exhibitors from around Canada show their prize cows in the National
              Holstein Show.

                  | | Semex and Holstein UK are hosting the nation-wide competition
to find two deserving young breeders who will join a team of
talented young representatives from countries across the world,
including Germany, Mexico, Japan and Australia, tasked with the
vital and challenging responsibility of looking after the elite
cows being shown in the Semex Walk of Fame at the Fair.
In addition to the unique learning opportunity and experience
gained by the young person, the successful applicants will win
a trip to the Royal Winter Fair worth over £1,000. The
Fair is widely regarded as one of the top agricultural events
in the world, and is held in Toronto from 2nd – 12th November
                2007.

Peter Arthur, Marketing Manager for Semex UK, believes the competition
is a great opportunity for young breeders to gain hands-on experience
                at a world-class event:

“As national sponsor of the Holstein Young Breeders we
are keen to support the future talent of the dairy industry through
various initiatives. This competition, now in its third year,
demonstrates our commitment to developing the talents of our
promising young breeders. We are delighted to offer enthusiastic
young farmers the chance to learn valuable techniques in how
to market highly bred cattle to an international audience. It
is a challenging but extremely rewarding and enjoyable role and
I would encourage those interested to get their applications
                in as quickly as possible!“

Applicants can download competition forms or apply online at
www.holstein-uk.org, or pick up an entry form from their local
Holstein Young Breeders club. The closing date for applications
